Neurodevelopment

Neurodevelopment deals with the development of the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord, and is a special field in which I am particularly interested.

During your child's development, it's essential to assess their neurodevelopment through how they focus, listen, learn, behave and move. A standard neurodevelopmental assessment is done at each Well-Child visit, and if any concerns are picked up, a multidisciplinary team is involved in further diagnosis and management.

Neurological deficits

Neurological deficits include various neurological disorders affecting a child's ability to learn, focus, move and behave. In most cases, these deficits are spotted at birth, but often children only develop symptoms later on. Early intervention is essential in these cases to avoid the worsening of the disorders.

Conditions that affect neurological development include:

  • ADHD
  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Speech delay
  • Developmental delay
  • Epilepsy and seizures
  • Meningitis
  • Learning congenialities, such as dyslexia
  • Movement disorders

My practice is a safe space for children of all ages. I provide a multidisciplinary approach to help care for your little ones during times of illness or routine check-ups.
